These first three pictures are not to annoy @longk but to make him feel pleased they're not in his garden.

I've got someone coming round this week to dig out a load of them for his garden (10 acres) as he wants them to brighten up the area under some large Leylandii. He shall be making a contribution to our charity

I know I've shown this a few times over the last couple of months but the weight of the flowers has now made the plant 18" shorter. The branches have all bent down under the weight

That is exactly what I was faced with when I moved in :yikes:

Show off! Does it set seed?

We had loads of seeds last year but didn't bother with them! I can save you some from this year - and have a look on the ground to see whether there is anything left from last year. The squirrels may have got them as they're too big and hard for the birds.

Apparently, although very hardy, they need bottom heat to germinate.

Mrs Shiney will also try some cuttings.

No problem but we probably will have to wait for the seeds to set (not sure I'll find any on the ground) and that won't be till late summer or autumn.

Please remind me later in the year.

The seeds are large (about half an inch), oval and very hard.

Another iris rescued from the undergrowth. Unfortunately only faintly scented, but a wonderful smouldering colour

                      Thanks!

I don't struggle with Fabaceae seeds. Warmth rather than bottom heat is enough after a soak.

Here are a few things looking good, despite the wind!!

The eye bed, my herb garden is starting to look lush (dogs being force-fed scent on the wind) image.jpg

I love these, and don't know what I've done to deserve their appearance each year, apart from being reluctant to weed anything that might be beneficial. image.jpg

This Acer is certainly "taken" despite the windy spot! image.jpg

Must have a pocket of decent soil somewhere there... image.jpg

...and finally, our freshly moved bug hotel :) image.jpg
