LoL the Callistemon Salignus 'Flaming Fire' is one I thought Strongy had it's a hardy, compact evergreen shrub with a wide spreading habit, lance-shaped leaves with bright red shoots two or three times a year, it has creamy to white flowers.

Walnut, it maybe a new cultivar one parent might be C. Salignus. Mine is not compact at 8ft and doesn't have pink/red new growth more copper, there is always something new coming along.
    C. Laevis and C. Little John are more recent introductions. Have to wait for Lol's to flower.

Nathan, like your winter baskets and the Fuchsia.

Mine, as pictured above, is the C Saligus but had no information whatsoever on the label barring its name and there seems to be very little available on the net. It was in a +/- 24cm pot when Sis bought it for me two years ago so I'm hoping it will flower sooooooooon .... but I do love the 'colouring' two to three times a year. It hasn't grown tremendously, perhaps half its size again.

Unseasonal for this time of year.
This Bougie has stayed out all last winter and didn't put any new leaf growth at all in 'summer'
still it decided to flower in late September and is still out now.

The Clianthus is having a second flush, not sure whether this is normal or not.
    Pete does yours ?

That's incredible strongy .... I would love a Clianthus and I believe pete has a beautiful one.

I have only two out of six Bougies blooming (barely) at the moment (not counting the shrub one) and this one is by the gate ....

We have been having strange weather this month, nice and sunny in the daytime up to 15c but down to 4.5c at night and this evening we have had some light but steady rain which we welcome. We have the fire going every evening (the only heat in the house) and I ordered another 3 tonnes of cork oak today which will be delivered from the Alentejo region next Saturday.

Thank you, Nathan. I don't know what you are doing but are you using Quick Reply? If so, try Go Advanced and copy the fourth line down from your photo IMG Code and paste into GC ... just a thought! :)

Nathan and Sis. I find it is easiest to go into PB / my albums.

Then you see "images from my PC" on the right-hand side and underneath that, "(options)".

Click on that and a new window opens up with "Image Options".

Click on "Large (640 x 480)" - this is the forum size.

Then click on "SAVE" - make sure you do this!

This takes you back to "my albums".

Then you never have to bother with resizing again, PB does it for you. :yho:

It also makes no difference if you post in Quick Reply or Go Advanced either.

That is supposed to read "640 x 480", don't know why that little smiley keeps cropping up!!! I did retype it a couple of times.
