                Can't get out at the moment, bother it. There are some oldish woodlands not too far away, Stockgrove has RSPB mentions of nuthatches, will have a pootle about next year hopefully.

                      'Peruvian Lily' (Alstroemeria) 'Summer Breeze'. It's last buds of 2023 just opened today on the balcony! [​IMG]

                      Will the plant survive the winter in a pot on the balcony without extra protection? This is the first time I've ever grown them.

                        It's tricky when in pots, if you put it close to the wall with other pots it might be ok, but it all depends on what sort of winter we will have.

                          All my Lillies are in pots and have been for a number of years .Last year despite having a continuous spell of lows of -7+ they all survived. Some were stored in the unheated greenhouse and some were accidentally forgotten about and just left out to face the elements totally unprotected. No difference between them at all. It's a chance you take.
