First bloom on my Fuchsia procumbens..................
    DSC_1555.jpg

It took a right kicking last winter, but at least it survived.

Fuchsia "Hawkshead" is finally looking good too.........................

It really seemed to dislike this summer, and the first blooms were slightly deformed.

You very kindly sent me one. Should I leave it out? Its in a raised bed, so I guess the drainage is OK at least.

Normally I would say yes, but bearing in mind the last few winters you pays your money and takes your chance! If it's a mild winter it should be ok. Mine was late, but it did survive.

Aglaia odorata - not spetacularly showy but it just flowers on and on, giving out a delicate perfume especially in strong sun.
      image.jpg

Fuchsia paniculata - grew from seeds last year, it is now in full stride
      image.jpg

Dicentra scandens - this is its 1st year and it has been flowering really strongly

:wow: love the fushcia HsuH never seen that before!!!, you do have some lovely unusual plants, I grew dicentra scandens from seed this year to can't believe how quickly it grew and flowered, have several growing through trees in the wood where they seem quite happy, love it.

            @simbad and @Grannie Annie

I hadn't realised that I'm gathering unusual plants :heehee:. I'm not focussed on any particular group of plants, apart from being a bit partial to things that not only look good but also are edible, and to things that smell nice. In general I like to try out anything new that comes my way. Some of them turn out nice, others not so good which I then have to get rid of (sometimes with great difficulty). Over the years I've ended up with a higgledy-piggledy collection of plants.

Regarding Fuchsia paniculata, it is really easy to grow from seeds. So if Simbad or anyone else is interested, please let me know, I'll collect some ripe berries for you. I guess the berries will be ripen in the spring or early summer next year.

Very windy and drab here, but I popped out with the camera to capture this little beauty before the weather kills it off. A gladioli which was planted later than usual has rewarded me handsomely ...

                CIMG0008 (480x640).jpg

The free seeds from GW: Cosmos "Purity" are putting on a wonderful show ...

                CIMG0013 (480x640).jpg

My little bit of "wild" ...

                CIMG0015 (480x640).jpg

And "dark red rose" (under the kitchen window) is still going strong ...

                CIMG0033 (585x640).jpg

But then I changed direction and spotted this .....

                CIMG0027 (640x480).jpg

... I just thought "Wow!" So busy looking at the front, that the beauty of a pretty 'behind' often gets overlooked.

A few of my roses are back in full bloom but with the chilly weather setting in it won't be for long.

Ebb Tide is a great colour Sheal - that also goes for the others too!

'M' it looks rather cute from back view - makes it look rather special!

The formation and colouring of the petals are lovely 'M'.
