    Hi everyone,
    some photos from late august
    persicaria amplexicaule has not exactly beautiful leaves so I thought it could do with somthing fluffy in between/behind, the parsley was coping quite well with the shady spot

    the russian vine also adds a fluffy texture to the whole picture :-)

    this must have been 2 weeks ago, rudbeckia getting going and (simple) onions still blossoming, they lastet very long, definitily worth using them in the border!!

      Really nice, LW. You're right about the Rudbeckia and Alliums lasting long, :ideaIPB: you might want to try a Teasel or two as they would look really good, at the back, in that kind of border.:snork:

          Every September my Hibiscus "Southern Belle" type opens:

          This was grown from seed and is 7" across. It dies back in the winter.

                Vernonia Gigantea (tall ironweed) this has done so well this year, grown from seed 3 years ago and 7ft tall this year!!!!!!!!!, yep I had to stand on a step to take this :heehee:

                            Yes I couldn't believe it either when I saw the post for two carry bags of colchicums; mostly being 'waterlily', some a different variety. They were all in leaf when I got them so I potted them up to see how they got on and here they are :biggrin:, there is a different one coming up too in another pot, a smaller white flower :)

                              Behind my house providing privacy is a Protea bush. The Azorean government has been pushing the growing of the species for the cut flower trade as it does so well here.:
