I saw a Kerria flowering the other day in a garden in town I actually stopped and looked for a second as from a distance I thought "oh that's a Kerria" but as I got closer it confused me as it was a single bloom rather than the usual double, I've always thought it was prettier as a single bloom (although I've never seen in outside of a book) so I might ask if I can have a cutting when someones out in the garden I assume it probably reverted from the pleniflora form.

                    Hi ICR,

I like the single form ( K. Japonica ) as well. I used to see it quite a lot but not too much nowadays. It was probably planted as it is, I've never heard of it reverting.

Thanks Anythony, I assumed it must have reverted as I too have not seen the single form sold for some time but the house was fairly new... I will have to take a thorough look at the local garden centre :)

Ohhh it's not fair! Look at that lovely brug. And flowers on the Podranea too! I suspect that there may just be a hint of a possibility of flower buds forming on my monster:fingers crossed: It better get a move on though, it's still on a warning!
How do you get your Hedychium spikes so full of flower @pete & @shiney? Hedychium gardnerianum...a 20 year ambition realised:) Couldn't wait for it to open fully:hapfeet: DSCN0010.JPG

Beautiful @noisette47 I especially like your Campsis flowers I have a cutting coming along of a very similar looking Campsis which I spotted growing out of someones fence onto a local path which was really in the way and somehow it ended up in my pocket...

I bought a Campsis about a fortnight ago and didn't have time to put it in so left it out on the gravel. Went to do it the other day and found that b***(y slugs and snails had eaten everything except for the main stem. ( Whoever says that slugs and snails don't like gravel should come to our garden ). Don't know what to do with it now, whether to plant it or chuck it out.
