What's looking good in September 2017

@KFF Yes they are a lovely cut flower -I too love them... i intend to add some more to my borders, this Autumn/Spring to recreate a more structured look in one of my beds that currently has self-seeded Oxeye Daisies in...naughty...naughty .......mind you i did leave them there and the effect was soooo pretty as they popped up thru the Johnston Blue hardy geraniums......so i fancy mixing Shasta Daisy 'Becky' which i already have, with Shasta Daisy "Crazy Daisy" and adding Hardy Geranium "Splish Splash" to extend the blooming time as "Jonstons Blue" although the most vivid blue is short blooming
Do you have a favorite variety that you grow ...to recommend

 

Hi BeeHappy , I have " Sante " which is a shaggy white double, a plain white single which could be " Snow Queen " and " Broadway Lights " , this is my fave as it's a lovely lemony yellow single. I'd like to get an " Esther Read" or " Wirral Supreme " .

Is your houttynia planted in the garden roders? This is a highly aggressive and invasive plant. It will run amok. I grow it only in pots.....agree, it is a fascinating foliage plant esp in sun, even has orange scented foliage and flowers, but beware

 

Yes Verndon it can be a bit of a thug if allowed to be.......but I am boss in my garden lol.

I have an area close to the pond where I let it run amok .....I always grow some in the pond as well........cheap to propogate.
