    Lovely colours, roders. It could be F magellanica 'Riccartonii'. I'm flattered. [​IMG]

    Mine (possibly F 'Tango Queen', pink and violet)are blooming in a pot next to the Cyclamen which are now blooming.

    I prefer "instant" gardens ... I'll invest in a plant. :D

    I've never seen them for sale in the UK, I presume you need to go to a specialist, they tend not to form offsets like most agaves, so I think they need to be grown from seed.
    I think they would grow much faster in your conditions LoL, especially if given a free root run in a nursery.
    Dee, another agave which is faster growing and also is good in a pot due to the fact that it doesn't form side shoots is Fillifera, its easier to find as well.
    There is one in the centre of the cold frame pic.
