        Mowgley......stunning Astilbe!

Longk.......I like the Sesbania punicea, not very popular in America by all accounts and would be hopeless on my sandy soil. Oh well, can't have everything I like!:)

An invasive weed in some parts - some people have all the luck!

I sowed some seeds this year (not the "Alba"). Looks like (but I haven't paid a lot of attention to them, as yet) that some are blue and some are white - I presume that is to be expected?

New one on me. I've always bought blue OR white.

Thanks. I'll make a closer inspection! I was wondering if they are like my White Trailing Lobellia - of which a few come up Blue (recessive gene I think, the seed packet does warn of that - means I can't plant them out until they have flowered though :) )

I don't think that timber archway (that's appeared since I was there last year) has enhanced the display.

A rose I've grown from a cutting taken when we left our Guildford home 15 years ago. It never grows very strongly, maybe because it is not grafted to a strong root stock as most roses are if you buy one, but its big flowers do give out a very delicate scent.

Basella rubra (ceylon spinach) - had a few leaves in soup yesterday and it was really nice. The big fleshy leaves have very good texture compared to normal spinach. Its red stems and abundance of dainty flowers made it quite ornamental as well.

@HsuH - how nice to see Calandrinia again. It's almost dazzling when the midday sun is on it! And A.psittacina is one of my favourites - mine are poor this year for some reason (too much sun?).
