        you have all 3 with daylily's some die right back into the ground , some just lose 80% of the leaves and then the evergreens that dont lose any

              Thanks Eve.....and I'm loving your Hibiscus! I have one that's about eight years old and was in a pot but has never flowered. I took the chance and planted it in my sandy soil two years ago and although it's looking healthy, still no flowers as yet. I haven't got a clue now what colour the flowers would be. :doh:

                Thanks Jenny - though as you can see something has been munching it!

                @Sheal. Maybe it needs lots of sun and heat? As that hibiscus is in the corner that regularly gets to well over 30C.

                  Because i have cats and the pollen from lillies is very poisonous to them and if they ingest it it can make them sick cause kidney failure and kill them

                  So i dnt like to take the risk as to ingest the pollen it normally happens if they get it on their fur and then clean themselves

                  @Dips, ah I didn't know that, what a shame. Luckily I don't have cats.

                  Sorry Eve, I had to laugh! :heehee: Although we've had a good summer so far this year the island is known for high rainfall and temperatures not exceeding 25C.... and that's rare. :biggrin: I know it's a bit of a tall order for the Hibiscus in these conditions but I thought I'd give it a chance in the garden for a couple of years. I'm house hunting, so it could well end up back in a pot for moving at some point. :)
