I love the Blue poppies but I lost mine over the winter. I have found them hard to come by this year and even some of the nurseries I have enquired with have said that there are not as many about this year.

However, on the plus side, I collected seed from mine last year and I now have 60 young plants. I found them really easy from seed. I sowed them fresh on the surface of ericaceous compost, covered in grit and left them alone in a shady spot over winter.

I bought one at Chelsea but its not a good specimen, but at least it will give me seed for next year.

Closer inspection would reveal the weeds in the lawn, if I can summon the energy going to go and Verdone+ while we have a few dry days.

I am the only one of 27 bungalows who has not got a slabbed front, I tell my neighbours , I live in No 1, I like to create a good impression, if you look at pictures 3 and 5 you can possibly make out what everyone else has. We were given the choice when the builders had to come back and do loads of remedial work to the drainage, So I have 3-4 feet of goodish topsoil under that.
