Thank you @Valleysgirl yes geums, roses, alliums, viburnum snowballs and heuchera flowers, just nice to brighten up the kitchen table and the roses smell lovely too.

I can't put this in the tropical section, as @pete grows it outside. However I've dragged mine out of the greenhouse today and it's looking ok. IMG_20240519_163726924_HDR.jpg
Mitraria coccinea also in flower - again can't chance it outside but it's happy enough in cold greenhouse

        Looks good @CarolineL
My Protea compactor is flowering for the first time this year.
Its another one that spent the worst of the winter in the greenhouse.
Doesn't seem to get as big as P. cynaroides.

That Abutilon is beautiful, @CarolineL. What's the secret to growing the x suntense types? I can grow megapotamicum easily enough outside but have lost countless lilac suntenses

Styrax japonicus 'Fargesii'. An abundance of lovely little 'bells'. Very short flowering season, unfortunately.

No secret with suntense @noisette47 - they will just up and die after a few years. I had a huge one in the last garden - 4+ metres tall covered with lavender flowers. Within a couple of years it was dead. I have got a healthy youngster cutting from this one ready to take over.
Nice protea @pete - looks a bit like roupelli that I once grew from seed.

                  Pyracantha blossom in the hedge.

The first salvia flowers (don't know exactly which salvia this is, I bought it as a tiny cutting from the car boot sale last year. Was surprised by the colour as I'd kind of assumed all salvias were blue! Took 6 cuttings from it in the autumn and they all survived as did the original).

Camassia - not my best example, and they are all a bit battered by the weather. But they are real bee magnets. 2024-05-19_15-06-55.jpg 2024-05-19_14-52-46.jpg 2024-05-17_16-21-11.jpg

                    Leucothoe Scarletta. Have always loved its arching branches, but this year is the best ever for flowers;

@pitter-patter Your "Cut flowers for the kitchen table" looks like a painting by Ian Parker or Anne Songhurst. I would print a picture like that on canvas.

The Foxglove on the left is now higher than me and hasn't reached the final height.
The Snapdragon on the right is from last year. All my Snapdragons survived the mild winter. I had cut them down (to 20cm) and the remaining green produced more green again.

I have grown Linaria since 2020, when I bought the first plant at Kiftsgate. In all these years, I have never had a Linaria with such "Cosmos like" leaves.

Your white Camassias are well ahead of mine @Papi Jo, but end of May is normal for them here. I think one flower has opened on one plant, but they should be good by the end of this week or so.
Love the Canna leaf pic @pitter-patter . Very, very nice. :)

My Pyracanthas have lots of buds @Escarpment , so it should be bonny in a week or two. The bees love it, don't they?
