      Its Sauromatum venosum.
One of a few plants often called Voodoo Lilly.
The leaves are quite interesting as well.

So that's what you call the "berry bush" in our little front garden! We've in fact had such for more than 40 years (most our previous house) and it's always been "the red berry bush". Yes, it's amazing the sound of the bees on it at the moment. On ours it's mostly honey bes at the moment, but I've noticed it can be mostly bumble bees other days?

Often it is teeming with really tiny bees here, though I don't know what they are called.

It is great for other wildlife too. The birds pinch off new leaves for their nests, then return for little insects or to shelter in it, and finally in winter they eat the berries.

After thinking I’d ruined my lawn with too much 4 in 1 weed and feed, it’s now recovered nicely after scarifying and reseeding. I might use it again next year as there’s no moss now:)!

First photo, after scarifying and reseeding. Second photo, today.

Well its a strange smell, but I'd not say its like rotting flesh, there are others similar that attract bluebottles and other flies for pollination.

I normally manage to kill penstemons but this lovely blue one from @Michael Hewett seems to do well.

Thank you @ViewAhead. I think the secret is to read ALL the instructions on the weed and feed and follow them correctly, which I haven’t done before! The critical point being don’t reseed until 8 weeks after application as it will inhibit seed germination. :nonofinger:
