Ahhhh, it's hopeless,
I recall seeing a photo from a few weeks ago showing some topiary balls/domes of about 1m or so high/diameter formed from what looks like quite dense conifer type plants or similar.
I got distracted at the time and have been through all the recent 'what's looking good' threads but can't find them again.
Was it you @Plantminded ?
If so what are those plants?
If not, my search will go on...

 

No @OwdPotter, not me, but I think these were in response to a request from @latimer. The recommendations included Hebe rakaiensis, not a conifer but a natural domed shape. Monty Don also recently planted some mature Yew domes in his garden on a recent episode of GW. That would be my choice!
