Oh @NigelJ is your cantua outside? Mine survived last year's nasty frost but hasn't even shown itself this year - it usually shoots from the base.

@CarolineL No it's in a pot and spends winter in a cold greenhouse and is moved outside every spring.
Originally I bought it with a mass of flowers on it and planted it in the garden and every year it leafed up, but no flowers. In 2020 I stuck it in a pot as it had not produced a leaf until June and stuck it in the greenhouse over winter and had flowers the next summer; so it has remained in a pot on this regime ever since. Some say it's hardy down to -7°C, others say it's hardy down to 1°C. Definitely lower than 1°C as it gets down to less than that in my greenhouse. Most years it stays in leaf in the greenhouse.

Thanks @NigelJ . When I used to keep mine in a pot in a polytunnel it did quite well too. I've got a rooted cutting of it, so may have to return to keeping it in the greenhouse. I was given some cuttings of a pale pink version from Oxford botanic garden but sadly I couldn't get them to take. I'll ask for more in autumn I think!

This was yesterday, it didn’t flower in a pot last year so I’m chuffed with this.

It must be pretty tricky managing 2 gardens at distance @Busy-Lizzie ?
I find it a challenge staying on top of one.
Guess you must have gardeners to keep on top of things whilst you are at the other site.
