Not so much looking good, but the perfume is out of this world...Cestrum nocturnum. We're enjoying a real Indian summer, still eating outside in the evening, so getting to appreciate the late-flowerers like Cestrum, Brugmansia and Hedychium :wub2:

@Logan & @Victoria Thank you both for your kind comments! There is a mixture of summer flowering plants & spring flowering plants at the moment & it will probably stay that way till the end of the month.

I've got a small plant of Cestrum nocturn from your seed @noisette47 in my porch, the scent is almost overpowering after dark.

Some shots of two of our apple trees. We get lots of windfalls and must have picked up a couple of hundred pounds of them in the last fortnight (shown some of them on 'what are you doing in the garden) and cooked them down and into the freezer.

Verbena bonariensis have been flowering, and spreading like mad, all round the garden.

We're going to give the bamboo in the background a year to recover from the ravages of the drought. We'll trim out the worst of it and see how it goes. We can't remember how long both of them have been in but we're guessing about 40 years.

@Balc we are very fortunate that all our apple trees have been doing well every year for the last 50 years. :blue thumb:

The leaves are those of the Hamamelis. :)

Speaking to the apple farmer who runs the orchards where I used to work he said it has been a bad year for apples, apart for a couple of orchards where they use irrigation.

But then he is a farmer, and I cant remember a farmer ever having a good year.:roflol:

Although we don't water our apple trees they have done well during the drought but four of the trees, later fruiting ones, have smaller than normal apples at this time of the year. Hopefully they will suddenly pick up speed. The trees are getting on for 100 years old so have some deep roots.
