It was grown from seed last year, dont know if they usually dissappear in winter, but its been like that since November and now its starting to grow, so maybe I should think about moving. :D

I tried cardoons yr before last.Yours is gorgeous Pete but they still scare me.Do they still stab you when they`re grown or do they soften up with age.To be honest, i didnt wait to find out.Everytime i turned round in the gh i got jabbed. In the end i chickened out and evicted them. [IMG]

I've not noticed any prickles of any consiquence up to now.
But then I do grow a lot of DANGEROUS plants, so I 'm not going to let an overgrown thistle get the better of me. [IMG] :D

I've forgotten the name elaine. We bought it back from Greece as a baby four years ago.

It's an agava and the spikes on the end of the leaves are really wicked, worse than the "teeth" along the edges. Hey, your "Jaws" pic is good Dave. We used to have one years ago, I cut the spikes off the tips, just too dangerous with kids, or even if you are gardening around and get one in your eye! It got too big in the end, so we gave it away where it would have more room.

    Love the Jaws pic, DaveW.

We were surprised today as we were brunching on the kitchen patio to suddenly notice both of the Jasmines starting to bloom ...

... and the heavenly-scented Freesias sitting in a pot right outside the back door so I can appreciate them whilst I'm painting or on the computer ...

Thanks for the I.D. Kedi-Gato. It is pretty lethal and I think I should also snip those tips.
It's just produced a baby that I must detach and pot up.

LoL - I'm so jealous. All that blossom around you!!

Lovely LofL, and as always, I am jealous of those heavenly freesias. As said, I just might buy some bulbs this year and give them another try, in the WG this time.
