Garlic mayo? Not sure if that would work. But it would give the neighbours something to talk about :snorky:

      Make Dandelion Wine using them.

Go out mid-day on a bright sunny day to pick them when they'll be fully open, and don't put the flower heads in a bag to bring home and de-petal later, because they'll have closed up again!

Take a bit more time, plus take a container of Camden Tablet solution out with you, and dunk just the yellow petals in that (no green bits).

They shouldn't be a problem in the average regularly maintained garden, If I find one in the lawn I just dig it out with a long knife and close up the hole afterwards. I only usually ever notice them if one appears in a border. Mowing the lawn closely on a regular basis, doesn't give any a chance to thrive.

        On general lawn care...
Any small bare patches I find and I'm talking about the size of a 50p, there's always a "plug" of grass to be found in a border when you're weeding you can use to repair the hole. I used to get a few "pitch marks," but that was because we put out to many peanuts for the squirrels and it's where they try to bury them. So we cut back on the nuts, leaving out just a few and the problem went away.

They don't actually grow here in the South (possibly too dry) but you can buy the seeds in the veggie section of seed shops. :psnp:

I'm not a fan because they spread so well, but they are pretty. I use a table knife and dig them out. Spent an hour last week removing about 60-70 from under the hedge and around the lawn. Will spot weed them out the rest of the year when I see them - and I will. Next door have a very neglected garden, and I can see their hordes of dandelions in flower, waiting to head over to me. :wallbanging:

I leave the sepals on, just no stems that contain the bitter latex :spinning:

I liquid weed and feed the lawn early spring. Spot weed killer the odd one that shows after that.

Got lots of beautiful golden flowers here, enough to be considered a carpet of Dandelions in places :yahoo:. So good for the Bees and other insects as well :)

@kazzawazza I'm with you on this, as I use one myself. No nasty chemicals or getting down on hands and knees to get rid of them is needed. It works on plenty other weeds as well.
