We've had a gorgeous day, 21 deg and rain all day


Ok.... I wish


In reality it's been 29 deg, not a single cloud all day.

 

It's been hot and sunny here today - a bit too hot to say the truth. It was a change from the rain we've had for the past 6 weeks but I can't say I enjoyed it. It was rather unpleasant.

 

We had a very rare hot day today and I've got a face like a beetroot having spent it at my grandchildren's sports day! Wall to wall sunshine of course and 26C/ 79F.

 

We haven't been back from the lottie long,as we were over there watering everything by 7am and have had to come away at 9am because the heat was getting too much.

I walked up our drive five minutes ago and the sun is so intent it is too much and I felt frazzled.We are now chilled out with the fans on and although the lounge window is open the breeze that comes in the room when the shut curtains blow feels warm.I shall be glad when it has gone past the front of the house and we feel more comfortable

 

Quick update and I have even managed to cut the lawns...

 

31c i'm now inside, we are still in the EU so we're having a siesta till night time

 

Another update.My washing is drying so fast on the line and I have just been out to hang some more out and the sweat is pouring off of me and it isn't a hot glow that us ladies get either

 

I'm going to try and get some good clothes pegs to hold me on the line, as i'm sweeting but if i stand outside in the sun i don't dry

 

Wall to wall sunshine but the wind kept the temperature down to 26c .

 

Unbearably hot and so humid. It's really unpleasant outside. Did a bit in the garden and now resemble a waterfall. Changed my top twice already today. I remember when living down south the hotter than the hammers of hell summer of about 1976? it's like that here today and similar yesterday. Unusual for us to get hellish humidity up here and forecast for massive thunderstorm plus torrential rain early tomorrow....good that should clear this away hopefully. I love hot weather but not the humidity that can go with it.

 

I know how you feel @silu as we have been the same trying to work outside under the gazebo that Mr Kandy put up earlier in the day and the sweat was running down my face like a waterfall and I have had to change my top and other stuff because of the humidity.

How people can go abroad with the temperatures like this and worse is beyond me They say that it is a dry heat abroad but I asked my friend the other day if she was going to Portugal soon and she said no way as it is so hot it is unbearable and they end up stuck doors all day
