I'm not a heat person and when temperatures get above 22C/72F I start to feel ill. So today with blue skies, sunshine and heat I've retreated, it's 29C/84F. We're promised a thunderstorm tonight, the rain will be welcome but not the lightning!

I remember that well @silu and you're correct it was 1976 with temperatures up to 38C/100F. :) I was pregnant with my first daughter through that blistering summer and driving a round trip of sixteen miles twice a day to take my mum to visit my dad in hospital, we did that for six weeks!

Wall to wall sunshine from the morning until around 6pm when cloud started to appear from the South West. I had the Observatory up and running and tracked the Sun which for the first time in weeks was showing a fair amount of Sunspots. I've bought small device called a Sol Searcher which is placed on the top of the telescope and allows you to find the Sun, [it ain't as easy as you would think to find the Sun with a scope:dunno::heehee:]. It allows you to align the scope with the Sun safely without the risk of blinding yourself. It's simple but effective. The top temperature was 94f in the afternoon according to my Garden Weather Station. Right now the temperature is 83f with a pressure reading of 1008mbs. We've got a weather warning of Thunderstorms and heavy rain during the night and also the same weather on and off during the next couple of days. Tonight is going to be a Warm one!!!:dunno::doh:

I kind of averaged it out amongst various thermometers sensors etc.

Came to the conclusion 33C seemed about right for us in this neck of the woods.

Its cooling down from tomorrow onwards, but still supposed to be reasonable.

To be honest my favourite temperature is 25 C dropping to 15 at night.

Its the kind of weather when you can do whatever without being too hot or cold.
But we cant have it all can we?

It is 8.45pm here and still 83.6f outside and 80.4f inside so we won't be sleeping tonight despite having a fan running all night in the bedroom:snorky:

@pete I must have been having a blonde moment last evening when I said about the temperature not being in Imperial as all I had to do was press a certain button on my wether station which changes to either metric or Imperial values:thud: :snorky:

Believe it or not, I woke up cold this morning with just a sheet over me, I really dont think the nights have been that oppressive down here at least, Saturday night was our warmest at something above 19C.
Current temp at 9.45pm is 26C just right if you are the bbq kind of person, me personally, I just like moving around without shutting doors.

For the last four days my weather station has been saying rain, for the 12 hour forecast, so I dont take too much notice of what those things say.

But for a conversion from imperial to metric they work ok.:blue thumb:

                    Boring, horrible, boring.....

Clear blue skies, not a single cloud. Temperature 35 deg.

The predicted temperature overnight is 23 deg, oh fun :)

                    Horrible, boring, horrible.

Holy Moses, the forecasters got in right to issue a weather warning for round here. Amazing fork lightening thunder and torrential rain for the last 4 hours. Internet stopped working for a good hour or so presume due to the electrical storm?
Fork lightening is quite unusual for these parts, normally just get the flash sort. Had 1 amazing fork which went either side of 1 of out 30 odd ft Fir trees. It looked like someone had edged the tree in orange. At least this carry on should rid us of the ghastly humidity we'd had for the previous 3 days. Just had another shuddering doze of thunder and rain starting again....it ain't finished yet!

Really warm here, although the gathering storm has brought the temperature down from 36 to 33 in the shade... Really looking forward to the rain!!
