Lovely sunny morning but minus 2.5 at 7.30. Just looked at the soil temperature in the polytunnel and it's only 1 degree at a depth of 3cm.

Roders sorry to hear about your horrible rain.:(perhaps I ought to send you some of our lovely snow, but then on second thoughts I would rather keep it for myself as it makes everywhere look clean and bright:flag::D

There's quite a bit of snow on the ground here today, I've had to take the train to uni, I couldn't brave driving on the roads. Looks like I've chosen the worst possible year to have planted daffodils for the first time, those who have poked their little heads up are going to be frozen :(

    Hi Freedom_Spark,
Now you've got me worried about MY daffs -As we are still hovering around zero altho' the days are creeping up tp 8 & 10 deg cent. Mind you I would have thought that the snow should protect the daffs and unless you get a really hard frost they should be OK ???
    Cheers

Yap lots of snow here and it has just started falling again! Apparently it'll be around until tomorrow evening but we shall see.

Can't help on the daffie front. Weve had some cold periods down in Cornwall but snow rarely settles down there like it does up here.
