Here in Central Scotland we have had very heavy snow, and after the snow, it is freezing. it has been like this for about two weeks :(. i have lived in this part of Scotland for around 45 years and i cannot remember weather like this in this area. :(. also the roads are a disgrace. one of our main roads did not see a touch of grit/salt till 7 days of extreme weather conditions had past. they then put down a mixture of 50% salt with a 50% of some other **** :(. it did not melt the snow/ice ,it made it into a mush, when walking it was like walking on an Icy sponge. the temp this morning at 6.30 was - 13. :flag:.

    music .

We had fair bit of sunshine today and the snow was melting - hooray.
We haven't been too badly hit with the snow - nothing like you folks up north.

I really hoped to get to the supermarket before the cold set in again after the weekend
as I have been housebound for nearly 8 weeks and heyho - just looked out of the window
and it's snowing a blizzard :doh:so looks like my shopping spree might be cancelled!!:(

It's fahrenheit Ziggy, LTG is from over the pond. At one time that's all we ever used, never used centigrade until I was in my teens, nowadays it's the other way round (20 deg F means about -6 deg C) :thumb:

Really hope things improve soon for you, Music, and everyone else who's having to cope with extreme weather. Temperature set to rise to a positively tropical two degrees here in Rochester and the cat has decided it's safe to go outside. Heavens be praised!

Thank you JWK, for answering Ziggy's question. We use fahrenheit here in US, and did not realize you guys/gals use celsius at the other side of the pond.

Very pretty, Penny, but I'm sure you've had enough. I'm hoping our weather is going to calm down a bit now. Too extreme. So unBritish. Where is all that nice miserable grey drizzle which we're used to having for much of the year? :)
