That's a nice view David. We ought to have a thread "the view from my window, back or front " :)

It's a clear start to the day here in Norfolk, looks cold but I need to venture into the back garden to replenish the bird feeding station etc.

We have less than an inch of snow now - but supposedly more by the end of the week (kids'll be happy with that!). We live in a valley - two roads in and out - one is quite steep and is very slippery this morning but manageable. The other, well, there is a burst water main at the top of the hill, and this has created quite thick ice overnight on the road making it undrivable - even four weel drives are not attempting it anymore. It flows down the hill, round the corner, and right into our driveway (as when they repaved the road, they repaved higher than it was originally, and is now higher than our paved driveway......) causing a lovely little ice rink at the end of the driveway and road entrance......but nothing grit can't handle :)

I bet Mrs. Pal had fun out there too!

Very picturesque but don't like the sound of your journey home.

Brrrr ... pleased you got home safely, Pal. From the news I hear it's going to be a bit of a nightmare there this coming week. Now that our storms are going away, we shall be dropping from 14-16c day to 8-10c and 8-10c at night to near freezing, but at least it only lasts for a few days here.

I see your squiggly bay? is still alive and healthy ... :gnthb:

Keep warm everyone and keep off those icy roads ...

We had something like 8 or 12" of snow last night (in Surrey) and its just started again, here's my car:

So I'm taking today off. It's eerily silent outside, all the roads are blocked/closed around us so no traffic noise. I can just hear a few kids in back gardens - all the schools are shut today. It does look nice out there though:

Take care folks, don't venture out unless you have to and be prepared, my son had to abandon his car on his drive home last night and walk the last mile. There's stories on the local radio of people spending the night in their cars - that's unheard of in Surrey!

Looking pretty much the same here John.....Never even tried to get the van out.
Son in Law was stranded on the Cirencester bypass for several hours last night but thankfully is safe and warm at home now:)

Snow started here about 7pm. But 9.30pm we had a winter wonderland. OH and I went out for a walk in it (I love the crunching sound your feet make and the silence that snow brings). It was lovely - kids out playing in the snow, whole families having fun building snowmen, other people marvelling at the scene...and silly drivers going way too fast and skidding about all over the place.

This morning we have 4 inches of snow and it's still coming down. Work is out of the question as I doubt I'll get the car out of the driveway (forget the motorbike!!). A walk in the woods later seems to be called for...and a restorative pint afterwards perhaps :)
