The torrential rain we had earlier has cleared away and the sun has come out to play. It's blowing a hooley out there though, 7C and feeling a lot colder.

I was out in the garden an hour ago and saw a huge bank of dark grey and black clouds coming in from the West and thought it was time to get indoors. The clouds came quickly and we had a really good Thunderstorm. There was continuously rolling Thunder, stabs of lightning followed by huge cracks of Thunder and the rain came down in torrents at 45 degrees!!! We haven't had such a good storm in ages so I really enjoyed being inside and watching it through an open door with a mug of tea in my hand!!:coffee::snork:

Really bad here too. Thunder and lightening which reminded me of the Isle of Man 3 leg symbol and it has turned very dark!

It must be travelling down from the north; I've kind of been tracking it on Facebook with people posting! Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester, me, Northants, London in that order ;)

That's usually ok, it's where it runs through Ashford-in-the-Water a mile or two upriver... The Wye often breaks it's banks there. I'm actually 6 miles outside of Bakewell, so away from the Wye and above the Bradford ;)

Just had the thunder, lightning and heavy rain here too. Thunderstorms in January? What a rum old winter this is turning out to be.

As the storm passed over, I knew it must be getting bad outside. First the cat shot in through the cat flap and headed straight for her bed, then Mrs trunky returned, looking rather damp and soggy, from a very badly timed cycle trip into town. :coffee:
