33 deg C on the car thermometer taking water to the plot. Far too hot for working over black mulch sheets or in polytunnels. Even on bare cultivated soil it seemed oppressively hot - why does ground covered with vegetation (especially mown grass) always seem much cooler? Came back home, opened a bottle of wine and made a list of things to do when it's cooler.

We've still got a snowball in our freezer that our daughter made when she was about 6 or 7 (about 12 - 13 years ago, and have a pic of her with it), but you can't have it as we're saving it for her until she has a home (and freezer) of her own. Looking forward to it as that will free up enough space for another pack of half price Quorn sausages.

P.S. When we had a freezer breakdown this was the first item we searched for to save, everything else was lost.

Woo, I'm teetotal but that does look inviting!

I wouldn't dare take something that belongs to your daughter Scrungee even though it's tempting! :)

It's a heatwave in July and we're talking snowballs!

Which reminds me of driving up into the mountains and collecting buckets of snowballs and on our return to the campsite chucking them at all those who'd chosen to lay around in the sunshine rather than go for a mountain walk.

Come December it'll probably be sandy beaches and warmer climes. :) I love the sun but not the heat, it makes me grouchy, so beware!

Currently 26'c/79'f on the patio and 31'c/88'f at the bottom of the garden in the sun.
I could get used to these summers, flip flops on, vodka & lemonade when I get home from work

29c here, highest for years. Just a light breeze and the sea even felt warm at Studland. Still 26c at 7 pm! :dbgrtmb:
Not much different to Alcudia where we are going next month although it will still be 30c+ or so there in a three weeks time, here it will probably be Autumn.
