I'm glad to hear many of you had sun today, you probably had my share too! :) Cloudy for most of the day, the sun tried a weak attempt at shining an hour before sunset, 11C.

When I was young I used to love the sound of mowers going. Admittedly they were hand pushed mowers but it was the sound of them plus, in the background, the gentle voice of John Arlott doing the cricket commentary that epitomised hot lazy summers.

I think what was annoying me Shiney was that everyone around appeared to be cutting their lawns but mine was far too wet to attempt it!

Quite agree Shiney. Nowadays all we get is the sound of strimmers and Geoff Boycott. Not the same really is it?

Started off warm and sunny here today. By around mid afternoon it had clouded over and a quite stiff north-easterly wind picked up, giving a raw feel to the end of the day.
