Very windy overnight with occasional rain, gusty this morning

 

Very windy last night with 60+mph gusts but calmer now.

 

Still raining - roads flooded and A21 closed due to fallen tree. Couldn't get out of Battle - jammed up with A21 traffic so I've rung my Lottery girls at the Hospice and said I won't be in today.

It's been a sunny but relatively windy day, with a snowy/sleet shower this afternoon followed by cloud & wind

 

Very windy.

 

Gale force winds and heavy rain here all day..

 

Wind finally dropped at some point twix 2am & 8am.
Predominantly dry and at least the wind had dropped ... but so too has the temperature.

 

It's been hell.

Meant to have been bad last night but this evening it's been terrible, had to get out of the van as I thought it would go over, took the puter and a bottle of wine into the car and sat it out

While I was in there 2 solar panels got ripped off the van and 2 of the kayaks got picked up and hurled across the g't arden.

The storms had lightning in them but only moved slowly across the sky, couldn't work out why the winds were so strong at ground level.

I'm still being shaken about all over the place. BBC news didn't give any warning of this or give it a nod on the local news at all.

Telly's broken along with the greenhouse again.


Loli has lost all power too.

 

Oh god Zigs, I'm worried about you now. Is there anywhere you can ride this out? Please go somewhere safe?! Loli, I hope you are ok too?

 

Ziggy, can you go to Sis's house ? It sounds pretty dire where you are. Loli will be OK...

Sunny this morning but the clouds built up again later. The wind made it to storm force on Snaefell mountain with 90mph recorded, but at lower levels wasn't quite as bad as expected although there's been damage around the island. The wind has been slowly dropping since about 5pm. At home here however, I don't know, an inspection tomorrow.

Awww Zigs. I wish there was something I could do to help you, take care. Will you get rid of that blasted greenhouse, it causes nothing but trouble. Each time you put it back together the wind takes it down again!

Loli, I hope all is well with you despite the loss of your power.

 

Hi Zig, I think you would be better off in that little cellar rather than in the caravan for the worst part of the wind. Take care and keep us posted.
