Nah, I am working early in the morning - talking of which, I should take my carcass upstairs and lay it on a bed.

Take care one and all -- and see you tomorrow

Thanks FC, I shall look into that :dbgrtmb:, we have two fans in our bedroom, but they do make a bit of a racket! I've wondered about the Dyson fan but don't know anyone who's bought one!

The Dyson fan is about the same cost as an air con unit - - good as it probably is, it is still only going to move warm air around.

The portable air con units are quite noisy, but at least you get proper cooling from them; the trick is to pre-cool the room, then run it with the fan on low speed if you need continued cooling overnight. Ours will be going off in a minute as there is a cool breeze now which will be fine for overnight. If there is no chance you will be moving it around, then a split system or a DIY install fixed system is the way to go - - MUCH quieter, and a hell of a lot more cooling power; they cost a bit more though.

We have fixed aircon units and have had them for 21 years :blue thumb:. They're fantastic at cooling the place down. They're not cheap to run but you rarely need them on for too long. They also have a silent mode - apart from the switched off mode :heehee:.

Dunno, we have these old fashioned things called windows in our house, they open up and let fresh air in, they don't use any electric either :)

Although, technically, ours do, they're using freebie solar power. :hapydancsmil:

In this heat we find that opening windows doesn't help a lot. Also, because we have so many plants around the outside of the building we get lots of flying thingies coming in. Bees, wasps, mossies and loads of the tiny black insects keep trying to come in.

So does Sarafi if a window is left open! He doesn't seem to understand that this is not his house :noidea:. Or, more likely, he does know and doesn't care! :heehee:

It's hot.....but it's windy (can't win!) so I've been blasted with hot air while doing a bit of weeding. I hate gardening in wind especially hot wind. Now I sound like I'm moaning (which I am) so I'll get off the thread. :spinning:

No idea what the current temp is outdoors, but it's certainly warm in the building at the moment
