Looking at the lightning detector site, it appears that Liverpool & Manchester areas are getting a bit of a battering.

Yep, it arrived here just after ten and we saw it all going on - on the other side of the mountain so Douglas was probably being knocked about a bit. Here on the west coast where I am we had a few cracks of lightning and rumbles of thunder and it disappeared.

We've had heavy grey clouds here all day with rain threatening but it didn't happen apart from a few drops that wouldn't have filled a spoon. The cloud along with a good breeze did keep the temperature down at 22C although we were promised 25C. I'm not complaining, anything over 20C is wasted on me, I don't like the heat.

I took the chance and put the sprinkler on the beds earlier, that usually makes it rain, but not this time so my gamble paid off. :)

Look after yourselves everyone, I know what you're going through, I was living in Essex in the summer of '76! Keep the fluids going in too! :grphg:

I've just got home after visiting a Lifelong friend and his family to talk about the oncoming fishing holiday to find rolling thunderstorms, booming drawn out thunders, and continuous multiple lightning flashes..............wonderful!!!, I just love Thunderstorms:yes::hapydancsmil::hapfeet:. It's 70f outside at the moment and humid, with the thunderstorms are still rattling around. The pressure reading is 1021mbs

I've left the waterfall pump on in the pond to keep the water oxygenated for the fish.:coffee::snork:

Yes, a very hot one today. Despite my best efforts it's still 28C indoors and it was 32C outside early afternoon.
Not quite so hot tomorrow says the forecast - just 26C in our area but like you Sheal anything over 20C is too much for me. I also see we might have thunderstorms - great!

Totally agree!! Taking *any* dog out in this heat is ridiculous - Ozzy had to forego his walk for this very reason :nonofinger:

Took him out this morning while there was still a breeze: this is what my weather was like

                        CIMG0046 (768x1024).jpg

By the time we arrived home that breeze had moved on and its getting to sweaty time

Son got up and asked (in a despairing voice): "Why is it so hot at *this* time!!!!??? Midday, maybe, but not at 7" :heehee: (This is the lad who is off to work in Spain for a year in September :roflol: )

A refreshing cooler start here - only 21C and there's quite a lot of cloud about. Forecast predicts a more manageable day. I struggled with it all yesterday evening but slept with only the duvet cover and that was fine,

It's a bit cooler this morning. It's 20.6C at the moment and quite cloudy. It looks like we may get more thundery showers here later this afternoon.
