Quite windy here too, but we were treated to a colourful sunrise this morning. :)

I have to say I wasn't surprised to read in the local paper this morning that we've just had the gloomiest Novembers for many years, with sunshine hours locally recorded at just over 44 hours for the whole month.
Based on the day length in November, that's about 5 days worth for the whole month! The upside is that it also equalled the mildest November on record.

I'm glad to hear you survived the night Silu. :) I hope all our members in Scotland are coping with the beating it's currently taking, stay safe!

There's no rain here at the moment but the skies are grey and the gale is giving the island a bashing, it won't help our current flooding situation, 12C/54F. Travel has been stopped to and from the island with ships harboured and planes grounded.

We still have lots of wind around from Desmond but at least it has remained dry not that I have noticed it as I am laid up at the moment with that awful cold bug that Mr Kandy has had plus I slipped over on some mud in the garden on Thursday and banged the back of my head and it didn't even knock any sense into me although I am sleeping for long periods of time:snork:

Have also heard that an eatery over at Sixfields in Northampton has gone up in flames and the fire brigade struggled to control the flames because of the strong winds. At least everyone got out safely although the building has now collapsed.Shame for all the employees who are probably out of a job now:sad:

Didn't know about Sixfields @Kandy . They just finished building a new place where the other restaurant burnt down. It would be crazy if its the new place.

Edit: Ahh it was Sixfields Tavern. Looks like it was a big blaze as you say.

A really noisy night last night with the brutally high winds from the West. I kept waking up due to the rattling and roaring of the winds, so I spent most of the night, on and off, reading a book while the Moggies were patrolling the House as they couldn't get a Cat Nap either.:cat-kittyandsmiley: It's been mostly dry all day but the winds have been gusting and blowing hard without stop. The top temperature has been 55f but, again, no sign of the Sun or any blue skies. My Weather Station is disagreeing with the Met Office in that it forecasting no rain in the next 12 hours while the Met Office is forecasting heavy rain.:dunno::doh:
The temperature is 51f and the pressure reading is 1008mbs which is a new Low of 1008mbs [on Thursday it had dropped to 1009mbs] so something is coming:hate-shocked::runforhills:

Stay safe everyone.........and we're all thinking of you, Sheal, over there on the IOM.:love30:

                          Thanks Armandii. :)

The wind is beginning to drop here now, let's hope the water level follows suit. The craving for silence is nearly as great as the craving for a blue sky and sunshine at the moment. We'll have to get @wiseowl to bottle some and send it north. :)

Still pretty grim around these parts but not as bad as it looks in Cumbria/The Borders. Wind fairly blowing again but it isn't raining.....well it wasn't when went to check the basement but probably started again by now! Spent 4 hours this pm pumping water out of the basement and it's 1/2 way back to the original level again after only 3 hours since we stopped pumping. Not as dire as it might be and nothing in comparison to what many poor souls have suffered. The main road between us and the nearest town is shut and has been all day. Added to the situation with The Forth Bridge things are a little difficult ( understatement!) around here atm. Glad it's stopped raining at least for a while with you Sheal. Long may that continue.

Glad to hear things aren't to bad up there with you Silu, but yes, Cumbria and The Borders are suffering too, sadly.

We've lost a number of trees around the island today, which is hardly surprising given the conditions.
