4 p.m. weather forecast said that there would be no snow in our area today and the sleet should miss us. Two minutes later heavy snow started falling! Great big fluffy snowflakes.

Drove over to our allotment to drop off the bags of grass clippings we were given a couple of weeks ago plus loads of veg peelings that have been mounting up and just as I was unloading the car for the second time it started sleeting and by the time I left the allotment ten minutes later it was like a blizzard in the village where the allotment is and it was the same through all the villages I went through.:snork:I haven't driven through a snow blizzard for a couple of years and it was so strange driving through heavy snow flakes as I am not used to it:biggrin:

By the time I turned off of the fast road and drove up to our village it had all but stopped which I was disappointed about:sad:

Ellen hope that your hubby managed to get back home safe and sound:smile:If we do decide to move from here the Peak District might be one of our options especially the area round Castleton etc:snork:

I had to drive into Nantwich today to pick up some miniature daffodils in pots that I'd ordered from a Market Plantsman friend. There was some light small flakes of snow to start off with with then turned in a a blizzard of fine snow and it laid on the ground and roads very quickly with visibility of around 50 yards. By the time I got to Nantwich the snow had become heavy with huge, heavy snowflakes and my friend was getting ready to pack up and head for home about 40 miles away.......I can't say that I blame him!!:dunno::heehee: So right up to around mid afternoon we've had very heavy snow showers with the temperature staying steady at 35f. Right now the snow has disappeared and we are getting periodic rain/sleet showers with a temperature of 34f and a pressure reading of 999mbs.:coffee::snork:

A dusting of snow up on the mountain first thing which slowly built as the day went on, the road was closed up there for most of the day because of ice. Snow showers all day but it hasn't settled on lower ground and sunshine in between. Just 2C and bitter in the strong wind.
