It's not been a good year for viewing the heavens has it? Perhaps winter will give you clearer skies. :)

It's been an abysmal year for observing, Sheal, to be honest. There's more moisture in the air and that creates cloud and the Jet Stream is not helping either by sitting on top of the UK or sliding South blocking out high pressures.:wallbanging: I can take some, [selfish], comfort from the fact that I'm not the only Astronomer being denied observing by cloud. Most of America is suffering from the same problem, along with the Hurricanes and Storms, while Canadian friends are telling me the same thing about persistent cloud cover. You're right, I hoping that Winter will bring, every now and then, clearer skies. I can't say that I have ever regretted, or had second thoughts, about the investment in time and money I spent in Astronomy as just that one night of clear skies, when everything goes well, makes up for the weeks/months of clouds:hapydancsmil::hapfeet::love30:. It's no wonder that the Professional Astronomers built their Observatories on mountain tops above the clouds:heehee:

It probably hasn't helped that you've had equipment breakdown's along the way too. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about the weather but I'm sure when you get a clear night it does make it all worthwhile, as you say. :)

Yesterday was a warm, sunny day with a record production of electricity for the time of year. :) I was too busy to take advantage of it  but Mrs Shiney did :hapydancsmil:

Very mild and misty at the moment.

I've been in Manchester for most of the day and it rained during the afternoon. My Garden Weather Station recorded 59f, no rain and very little breeze. At the moment it's cloudy with a Sickle Moon showing through the cloud, with a temperature of 52f and a pressure reading of 100hpa.:coffee::snorky:

Another fine, sunny and breezy day. The temperature just made it into double figures at 10C/50F.

It was just 9C/48F around noon. Even though the sun has shone there's been a strong, cold wind blowing for most of the day.

It's currently 5 C. The skies are clear and the breath is clearly visible. Frost is surely imminent.

Bit grey but the sun is making a valiant effort to wink at the garden in anticipation of a bit more sunshine hopefully later.

Dull, dry with light winds, cool at 12c, expecting first frost tonight.

The sun must have had a speck of dust in its eye with all that winking first thing, because, it soon sorted itself out and it was a glorious sunny day. Bit of a breeze, but nothing of note.
