I seem to remember seeing gas lamps in S.E. London as a child when I visited relatives there. :)

Yep, I remember them too, also the cobbled road in our street. Then in the late 50's the cobbles were tarmaced over and the gas lamps were replaced with electricity..........eeeeh, those were the days!!:old::heehee: I can't say they were the good old days as the diet wasn't all that healthy, we had smog, diseases like Polio, German Measles, Scarlet Fever. On the plus side the community was closer and friendlier.....and we were too poor to rob!!:snorky:

0.25 Deg C in the garden at 6:00 am, BBC Weather app forecast was 3 Deg C.

It's still dropping, so could well be below freezing by 7:00 am.

Can't understand why some people have already planted tomatoes outdoors.

EDIT: Frost on car roofs at 6:15

0 Deg C was as low as it got.

32.4F Frost on car roofs and just a light frost on front lawn but not on back lawn.

@ARMANDII you forgot the road this time

Now that my computer has had a rest it will let me download the photo

The main road, at the top of our road, was made of tarred wood blocks. When they decided to tarmac the road there was a 'free for all' rush for the hundreds of thousands wooden blocks they pulled up. I remember us rushing up and down the road with wheelbarrows full of them. They were perfect for burning on the fire but they made the Great Smog of 1952 even worse than it would have been. It helped start the nickname of 'The Big Smoke'. :rolleyespink:

A few glimpses of sunshine amongst more grey cloud and a light breeze blowing. 16C/61F

Cloudy and 42.3F this morning. Yesterday was very sunny all day and our solar panels had smiles on their faces.

Back to winter today! Snow showers which thankfully haven't settled and quite breezy. I felt sorry for all the new lambs in the fields as we drove by them. The temperature has been like a yo-yo too from 5C/41F down to 0C/32F, then up to 7/45 and back to 3/37 as the afternoon wore on.

Snow is promised overnight until dawn.

3 days of blue skies and sunshine have been the menu up to and including the day. The temperature for the first two days got to 60f but today it only managed to get to 50f. Having said that the Sun did feel warm at times. The winds today gusted up to 12mph and average around 7mph.
Right now the temperature is 39f with a pressure reading of 996hpa.:coffee::snorky:
