Dry, cool and cloudy so far here in Barnstaple. Could be a wet drive home later via Burnham on Sea.

Just had a shower, had 3mm up to now, (yesterday and today), so the surface of the ground is looking a bit damp, one inch down it's still dry.
I've measured 7.5mm of rain for April and most of that came yesterday.

All those people who commented whilst out this morning about finally getting much needed rain at last obviously aren't gardeners. I did some more polytunnel border soil replacement this morning and I needn't have gone in my wellies as where I've been rotovating to a fine tilth to provide replacement soil was just damp on the surface and dry as dust underneath.

A lot a severe showers last week but made no difference to the soil in open spaces. Still as dry as a bone and filled with cavernous cracks in fields. This Summer could be a wet one :mute: :th scifD36: :frown:

All it needs to ensure that is a prediction of a BBQ Summer.

I'm sure the daily express will publish something soon

A light shower around 5am just enough to wet the Tarmac then a mixture of sunny spells and cloud 16'c/60'f

No rain here today, I've had to put up with wall to wall sunshine! A lovely day with a light breeze and the temperature up to 18C/64F.

It started off dark and dull with a breeze that made the temperature of 53f seem more like 43f:dunno: It stayed dark, dull and cold until just after mid-day and blue skies appeared as light, white, puffy clouds trundled by and the temperature rose to 63f:yes::hapydancsmil:. No rain, but every now and then the Sun would hide away for a couple of minutes and the breeze kept blowing. At the moment the temperature is 50f and the pressure reading is 995hpa.:ouch1::snorky:

We had a little bit of rain Sunday night which did little for most of the garden but the grass has perked up. I still can't get the fork into the ground in some places. Yesterday we had sun and a fairly strong wind. About 5 p.m. rain clouds came over but dropped their rain on the next village

The sun is still below the horizon this morning but we have clear skies so it will be up soon.

Another lovely sunny day with a light breeze and short sleeves are seeing daylight at last. The temperature was up another two degrees at 20C/68F.

Started out sunny and warm but clouded up by 3pm and we have had a couple of sharp, but short lived, showers this evening.
