Today is just about warm at 19c with the odd shower. Tomorrow should be warmer in Menorca, than it's been here this last week at 25/27c, so I don't care about the weather here.

We were forecast very heavy, thundery rain this afternoon :bolt:and I feared for my spires of delphiniums and lupins. However, the rain has cleared away and my valued plants were not damaged. Yippee!

upload_2017-5-28_22-3-49.jpeg Just stand up straight you lot - and stop whining :heehee:

Evidently, the rain has been so heavy in Cornwall (I have family there) that mud has been washed from the fields and into the village where they live ....and we still don`t have any here in this corner

After a cloudy, breezy day the sun put in a very late appearance here. 18C/64F

I hope it doesn't come north. I've had three lightening strikes on homes in the past and it scares me now.

It rained overnight but I dont think it could have been particularly heavy, didn't hear any thunder only 7mm in the rain gauge.

Lots of heavy rain here for a good couple of hours from around 1am, and really 'good' rain too, if you know what I mean (you know, plentiful and consistent for a couple of hours to give the garden a good soaking). Only a few rumbles of thunder here, but by God they were loud and lasted for ages - more like explosions than the sound you would normally think of as thunder. Apparently, there is a risk of more this evening.

Hardly a drop of rain here over the past days despite us being warned of flooding and dreadful thunder storms (heard 1 rumble). Grass still isn't really growing and only had it cut it twice this Spring. This is beginning to remind me of years ago when the Hay crop failed through lack of rain and we ended up having to import hay from the USA. OMG I dread to think how much that is going to cost should these drought conditions continue. Hopefully rain will appear soon as there is still time to get a decent crop. Who would think the farmers up in these parts are busy doing rain dances in the hope of getting some?
