My dozy weather station said it was 35.4C max today, now I can only compare it with the last few days, so today has been the hottest yet.
It still says that it is raining, where does this rubbish come from?
I can only assume that in Peking it is peeing down.

Its now 8.45ish in the evening and the Max min is stating 28C, so it's quite warm however you look at it.;)

Never has so much cold beer been consumed by so few in such a short space of time.

edit, sunrise 4.41 am sunset. 21.18 pm. this is as good as it gets folks.
      Downhill from here on in.

:phew: Hot, hot, hot ... but we here in Central Algarve only went to 35c, 10c above normal for us in the South. I am speechless about those who lost their lives in Central Portugal this weekend. I know someone who fled their village but 11 died ... I cannot even comprehend this! We are back down to 30ish days and hopefully going back to normal. We don't expect rain till after summer now.

Your garden may suffer but count your blessings. :love30:

Those times should remain for a few days @pete before they start going backwards.

The weather here was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. All day sun, humid with a light breeze but with the exception of a ten minute downpour, 25C/77F.

I know Victoria. We had a serious forest fire about 6 years ago which got to about 200 metres from our house until the wind changed direction. One of the scariest experiences I've ever had. The light was sepia due to the smoke blocking the sun and I could hear the crackling of the leaves burning on the trees. The wind was so strong that the thought which runs through your head is, "no-one can stop this". After a really dry winter and spring with higher than average temperatures we're on extreme alert for forest fires already.

What a warm, sticky night! We're just not used to it not cooling down overnight here in the north! The minimum was about 20ºC and it's now nearly 29ºC at just after 10:00 am. :melting:

I heard about those poor soles losing their lives @Victoria,and it is sad all round.I think a Grandfather and his Grandaughter were two different of the victims in that road fire and he was looking after the child while her parents were away on Honeymoon:sad:

It also said in the DM this morning that new evidence suggests that the fire was started deliberately and wasn't due to a lightning strike as first thought:sad:

We had a hot sticky night last night and this morning we have had thunder claps but no lightning and earlier we had a good downpour but I don't think my waterbutt is full just yet:snorky:

Second day with the temps over 35c. Yesterday it was 37c, today 36c, with the overnight temp dropping to 23c....

The wind has been picking up this afternoon, so we may be about to get some thunderstorms this evening. We desperately need water!!

Was 20C overnight, and a sunny start, where I work we had a downpour around 11am which lasted about 15 mins, with thunder and lightning.
When I got home it appears that there was no rain here.

It has cooled down a lot with a Max of 27 today, and 24 at the moment.

Back to a grey sky today with drizzle falling for the last hour or so. Although it's been mostly dry here since the winter there's not been a great deal of sunshine. 20C/68F

Tuesday it just reached 96F (35.5C) but this morning is nice and cool and I've been working in the garden. At 4.30 a.m. it was 58F (14.4C).

We're still in drought here in Shineyland with only one heavy rainfall in 14 weeks. No other rain and that forecast for yesterday never happened. It's showing 'possible' rain tomorrow and rain next Wednesday. I think they may have got it right twice this year so their track record isn't good.

Fortunately for our garden I have been using the sprinkler on the veg and plants - never on the grass. They weren't too happy after we had been away all last week.
