The gale we've had blowing here since late last night is gradually dying down now. The accompanying rain didn't come to much with occasional light showers. The sky has brightened this evening and this last hour or so has seen the sun put in an appearance.

Edit: Temperature 13C/55F. Currently at 9C/48F, going backwards to winter I think.

Stunning sunset after the storm. Blowaway totally crushed, looked like a giant had just stepped on it, the lawns covered in leaves and bits of tree branches . Fun in the garden :)

Hi @silu sorry to hear the damage you've had up your end and such a shame your plants have took some battering...our windows brought down a lot dirt and old leaves all over the decking. :)

Glad you missed the worst of it @Sheal. We don't usually "cope it" but did this time. Lovely evening now, mill pond arrangement, you'd hardly believe that a few hours ago I was not going outside it was so scary:yikes::). Lots and lots of clearing up tomorrow, couldn't face it this evening but tomorrow is another day as they say.

Starting afresh tomorrow sounds best @silu and hopefully the damage won't be as bad as it looks now.

The wind dropped to a gentle breeze today although it feels chilly. A mixture of blue sky, sunshine and still dry. 14C/57F.

Yesterday we had mainly brightness with ocassional sunny spells and ocassional light drizzle but not sufficient to stop us going out for a walk in the countryside,

Today they forecast heavy rain (an improvement from the thunder storms they were predicting) with a current prediction of 98% chance of rain. We're currently getting the other 2%. That figure is shown as rising to 99% (anyone ever seen them show 100%?) by 8 a.m.
