"Cooler" today with the temperature only reaching 86f, with the fantastic blue skies, just a slight breeze, and not a drop of rain. The Met Office is forecasting the hot, dry weather well into next week so the Deck Chair is out. The Cats have got the coolest, shaded places in the garden in their little black book and head for them in the morning. When it gets too hot there they come back into the lounge and lie on their backs with their feet in the air.....it's a hard life for them:cat-kittyandsmiley: Right now the temperature is 76f and the pressure reading is 1002hpa.:coffee::snorky:

At last a break from the intense heat here. A misty day today so the temperature has dropped at least 20 degrees to 15C/59F. The heat will start to build again tomorrow.

Checking the Jet Stream map earlier it's still looking dry until the middle of July.

              Sameish as yesterday .

@Sheal is your thermometer working right ? I heard that Porthmadog in Wales was the hottest, I've not heard of 39 anywhere. Threave is the hottest in Scotland at around 32/33.

I must admit I don’t like this heat
I live in the N/E of England. I’m not used to heat! We sometimes get sun, but not normally like this.

The ever, enveloping grey toxic cloud is overhead now :frown: and it’s pleasantly warm :rolleyespink:

Yes it's working properly @KFF :) The temperatures I'm giving are from the thermometer in my back garden. In the morning the sun is fully on the back which gives a high reading. From midday the thermometer is in shade and the temperature drops four to five degrees. Away from home temperatures are roughly seven to ten degrees less, so it's still pretty hot.

@kazzawazza came up with a good idea last night for myself and others who can't keep cool even at night :fan:

26c again with the ever present stiff breeze which makes it more pleasant.
I wouldn't mind having this for a few more weeks if only we had some rain at night too but we either have one or the other!

82f yesterday and 82f again today but there was more of a breeze today with gusts getting up from 2 to 5 mph and it's been more of a constant 5mph over the last couple of hours. The breeze has been welcome and even down by the isolation of the Wildlife pond you could feel it gently cooling the air and see it making the Ferns, Grasses, and Bullrushes waft in the breeze. Right now the temperature has dropped to 78f, the breeze is still 5mph, and the pressure reading is 997hpa and that has been slowly dropping over the last two or three days.:coffee::snorky:
