WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE 2018

Warm, windy, sunny start.

 

A lot of raining during the night and thundering too (my poor dog is scared when it´s thunderstorm ). +14 C and still raining. No watering works but I afraid the slugs will activate soon with kind of weather.

 

Another warm morning....getting bored with it now. I want some rain!

 

Thanks but I've got 23 blueberries in pots and they have about 3pts each.

 

The heat wave continues here too. I'm going out to the garage now to program the sprinkler system and then to the cellar to turn on the water valve for it. Everything will be directly watered with "tap" water and still no harm seems to befall my green friends... so.. does it really matter for the short term?

We are already up over 80f - best get a move on!

Our local pond has dried out:

 

Yes our stream that's around the wood has dried up.

 

Cloudy, cool and now heavy rain.

 

That was short lived, 30mins! Just a cool and cloudy 18c

 

So hot here!

Since I put the pond in at the end of April, we have had just three heavy thunderstorms. That's all the rain . . . !

The grass is the colour of wheat ready to harvest. We have lost one apple tree, despite our best efforts. The others are struggling. Three days ago, the forecast was for 8mm of thunder rain today, 80% probability. Now, no chance of any rain, again. Another day of 33-34c, and no breeze today, either. That has got to be better, as we have had the sort of drying breeze which along with the temps gets washing on the line dry in less than an hour! Needless to say, no sign of any rain in the next 10 days' forecast either. We are used to extended dry periods, but this is extreme!
