Having done 4 hours work this morning, I`m now using the heat as an excuse to be very very lazy

 

We got to the lottie by 8am and the heat hit us as we stepped out of the car.Only managed 2 1/2 hours before we had to head for home as the sweat was pouring off of us so Mr Kandy is watching the Grand Prix he recorded yesterday

We have thunder flies here as well which are getting everywhere so they must be the result of the two flashes and bangs of the thunderstorm we had Friday tea time

PS,I think we are hotter than some of the countries abroad that people tend to flock to for a holiday each year

 

As my campsite is very near Dover, there are quite a few holidaymakers heading for the tunnel and ferries. I`ve been asking them ''are you heading off to somewhere warm''??

 

Well it's very and mean very hot Temp in doors 79F and out side in the shade 83F, so god knows what it is in the sun.

 

Oh Woo it's crippling me in doors in the shade and no way am I venturing out

 

Gail, wet a towel and hang it around your neck - it will help.

+ 30 C again. Nobody knows when this heat ends. It´s not as normal summer weather like in here usually.

Hi @wiseowl We are fine thanks just getting eaten alive by those pesky thunderflies.Have been hanging some washing out on the line and it has done me in so have come indoors for some liquid refreshment and a rest

Yes I know what you mean about the farmers having it hard with the feed for the livestock as they were talking about it on a programme last week or perhaps I heard it on the radiothat said the farmers were going to run out of winter feed because the grass isn’t growing due to the drought so the haylage they have already cut is being fed to them now.When we walk across the field to the next village there is a large field full of sheep which doesn’t appear to have any water in it for them and some of the sheep are hopping around on three legs because they have somehow managed to damage one of them and can’t place it on the ground to walk on it.Hard to imagine that in March those same sheep and lambs were running to the fence crying at us for food when we had the beast from the east to contend with

I am glad we are not away this week in the Caravan as we would have been suffering with this heat and I remember we went to the Isle of Wight a good few years ago
and it got up to 30c at one point and we couldn’t even get out for a walk as it was so hot even in the early morning.

@Tetters I couldn’t believe it when I saw the map in the Daily Wail showing the heat range and it looks like we were hotter than Portugal for once
