Southern softies....we get our fair share of rough weather, but just ride it out!

We are surrounded by hills too and because of this we are in a wind tunnel...even in summer. When it rains it's a guarantee that parts of our lane flood....but for us it's just the price we pay to live in this beautiful area.
I'm from Lancashire.....so I can make comparisons alright

Back to the weather here....well, we now have water butt overfill!!!

The rain was very heavy for most of the day and the winds battered a lot of tall plants, despite my (obviously feeble) attempts to stake them all on Friday in anticipation of the predicted weather. A branch from a tree broke in the wind, thankfully just missing our greenhouse......phew!!!

Today we have sunshine so hopefully all the said damage will get fixed. Next week we have predicted rain every day until next Sunday so must make the most of today...but hey that's good old British weather, compared to a lot of places in this world we come off very lightly

 

Was bright and sunny at 6.30am but monster clouds have invaded from the West and a strong breeze is cooling it down too.

 

Not bad at all here...sunny, calm, warm n dry.

 

Lovely and sunny here but clouds in the distance and a cool light breeze. Just seen the forecast for the week ahead...rain everyday. Not good for being outside but good for the allotment and refilling our well.

 

I only have a few wisps of clouds and the guessers have told us that we're getting 76f today. Another perfect day for puttering in the garden and then later going over for an hour to visit my buddies at the pub.

I love that it is getting warmer because my bread dough rises more quickly and my Sunday morning baking gets done a little quicker

We've been forecast rain tomorrow and then back to sunshine the next day. Seems like we might be lucky to get a pattern of rain one day then two days of sun.

 

it really does make a difference doesn't it. Would love to see the finished article Lori...

Raining very steadily but no wind. Looks like it's set to be like this all day.

 

Still waiting for the heavy rain that's been promised.
If it happens it could put paid to our monthly camera club walk but on the positive side it doesn't rain in the pub.​

 

Dry for the moment but more rain..heavy too...is promised. A very wet week ahead. So much rain, so much growth recently

 

Steady rain here ,lovely as I fed the lawns last night.
We are supposed to get one months rain today........bring it on.
Only downside the weeds will love it too
