Currently 18c going to 27c, normal for this time of year (well, a few degrees warmer overnight). We are fortunate we were not affected by this European heatwave but we did go to 29c on Friday.

Yummy - a tiny SW breeze and it was 21C on the patio at 9 am today.
Only 25C on the patio right now. Watered all the* pots, window boxes and the hanging basket* which took me 10minutes to dead head. About 80 heads....:thud:
watered these items*-* for 2 neighbours on holiday and fed 2 of their patio toms "Totem " that I'm minding for one of them.
That's it -having a nice cuppa now
loving this temperature today - my favourite,

              Hi,

You've got a very selfish neighbour indeed Mike; I'm sure you could get a noise abatement order against him/her because 23:00 hrs isn't the time to be making noise; common sense should prevail but unfortunately these days few seem to possess common sense.

Bron and I have worked very hard indeed to achieve our enviable lifestyle but we have immediate neighbours who really shouldn't be on this street; they are well known to the police for beatings; drugs; car theft and burglary; they live at No 37 and years ago one of them burgled No 35 the stolen items found by police in their garage; the grandson also lives on the street and a few years ago the police did a drugs bust seizing his car at 2 am but these people still remain here and they think they own the street. Bron and I have often considered moving but why should we; we've spent the last 33 years making this our dream bungalow and it's in a desirable area of Huddersfield; low life like our neighbours are everywhere so just moving is a huge expensive gamble and having to start over doesn't appeal to us; we called in the police over two years ago so at least we now are being left alone; the police officer warned the neighbours any more harassment towards us from them and they would be arrested; we tried for 30 years with these neighbours before saying enough was enough. One of the sons appears to have separated from his partner and has been living back with his parents so we can't relax. Why are neighbours so bad when a bit of give and take makes all the difference in the world; these people just take.

We're detached and if I make any noise in the workshop I ensure the workshop doors remain closed; it costs nothing to play fair and respect others.

I've enjoyed a super uninterrupted morning in the workshop; if every day were like today I'd never moan again.

              Kind regards, Colin.

You're right Colin neighbours like that are everywhere.

That's a good job what you've done with that mower colin, well done.

If we have the windows open and our boys start barking i always close them and they never bark in the garden.

No, @pete , not an EU ruling, but a member state ruling. It actually differs, council to council. Yes, it does make it difficult at times to cut the grass, but they seem to manage it. Having rules is good. The attitude that they are there to be broken is frustrating. Supposed to be silence after 11pm. Really important when people are heading to bed with temps of 23c+ at midnight. I’m officially not speaking with one set of neighbours, after they were shouting and screaming in the garden (new swimming pool) at 5.00am this morning, even after the police had been called. The temptation to sound my car-horn as I drove past at 8.50 am this morning was palpable!!

Still today we had a cooler day, just 30 degrees, so able to move around a little...

We've had our two days of summer here and my winter duvet is back on the bed. :doh:Although we didn't get the promised rain, a strong wind has blown all day and the sun managed to find it's way through the clouds from time to time. Just 15C/59F.

                            Hi,

Our duvet is seldom off the bed Sheal also our electric blanket gets used a great deal. 15C whilst I was shopping this morning but it felt more like winter with the cold breeze; it's also dark and overcast so Blackie must be hovering overhead just waiting for me to play out. I'm worried that we might end up on TV begging for £3 per month to dig a well because it hasn't rained for the last couple of days; out patio is dry which is rare. I can't complain because this summer is better than the summer when I erected a new garden hut and it was struggling to reach 10C whilst I was blasted with hailstones. Life can be so good. :rasp:

                            Kind regards, Colin.
