                Hi,

WOW; nothing to moan about. Blackie and Gale are absent and it's not even a black hole; is this Yorkshire or have I got out of bed in another county? Beautiful morning; warm and calm; I feel some paint spraying coming on. I've already fed our neighbours cats and pulled their wheelie bin out; I've also just filled in more badger dug holes bedding in some stones; the holes are getting smaller so hopefully the badgers will move on in peace; they are most welcome to visit but not to move in as residents.

                Kind regards, Colin.

                      Hi,

Many thanks wiseowl; very kind of you and appreciated.

After waiting for days to paint spray my Colt grass box in gloss I've finally done it just now; I did wonder if I would live long enough to get the top coat of paint on; I did the spraying on our driveway before the sun comes round; it's gorgeous here this morning; when it's like this I'm sure anyone would love to live here. The grass box is outside allowing the paint to dry; just two bugs attached to it at the moment; over 40 years ago I used to spray cars outside in this kind of weather but unfortunately it's rare these days.

                      Kind regards, Colin.

The Suffolk Colt grass box as bought; it could only get better.

                      Grass box_003.JPG
The largest battle scars filled; the complete box has been treated with rust converter.

                      Grass box_003_01.JPG
OK so I cheated; I touched in the difficult to spray areas by brush; there's a lip all around the opening and to spray could result in an unpainted line just behind the lip; I'm a bit too streetwise to get caught out by this.

                      Grass box_004_01.JPG
Still a bit battered but looking an whole lot better; when the paint dries I'll attach the Colt decal; I bought two decals from Australia through eBay. I might now manage to do a bit of woodturning and metal spinning but once again our weeds are in for a rough time today.

It finally cooled down to 17c this morning, so I enjoyed my breakfast coffee next to the pond. Just hit 31c as we got to midday, and this is supposed to be one of the cooler days this week!!

At this time yesterday the temperature was 80f but today it's 75f with a fair amount of cloud and a good cooling breeze. I'm hoping that the forecast Thunder and Lightning Storms will arrive tonight as I love a good storm. Jenny the Cat:cat-kittyandsmiley: has decided to retire to the top passage of the House out of the outside heat, although I'm not sure that's a good decision as warm air rises:dunno::heehee:

We got through our heat wave and right now the skies are clear and the temperature is only 63f with a high of 77f expected.
