      Hi,

I'm at peace with the world this morning. Blackie & Gale are having a rest; Blackie must be tired out watering the bungalow and gardens the way he did yesterday and the day before and the day before etc. I've just enjoyed a mug of tea sitting on our patio looking up the mountain and although we have so much rain the gardens look absolutely wonderful.

I've relocated the rest of the sky rocket conifers and potentilla's and now feel hot and sticky; it's hot out there this morning; just walking up the mountain is a good workout and I've been up and down a number of times digging holes and carrying the plants.

      Kind regards, Colin.

Under pressure as soon as we get up and make a noise in our kitchen; two of our little friends wanting to be fussed and fed; Harvey & Ruby are our immediate neighbours cats with their third cat relaxing this one is Dudley. We spoil them all rotten. We're overrun with cats but we like them all even if they do leave little presents in the garden. Soots; Aspro and Max have also paid us a visit; every time we open our back door we have to be careful because of the furry missiles.

If only I could sit with such contentment and not a care in the world.

Looking up the mountain to the left; please note the angle of the path. I think it fair to say our gardens are mature.

          Hi,

          Thanks Logan. :)

          I was careful to say at peace with the world this morning because I knew it wouldn't last a full day;

          upload_2019-8-4_11-54-57.png

I've got until 2pm without Blackie but I'm not betting on it because it's getting dark again so I'd better get off my backside and finish off in the garden. To Blackie :rasp:

          Kind regards, Colin.

Still dry and warm (74F) with more cloud in the skies than blue. My cat is stretched out asleep on the patio and is always faster than me to head for the Kitchen and shelter from the rain:heehee::cat-kittyandsmiley: The forecast is still for heavy showers which is not good for the Poyton, Chapel en le Frith, and Whaley Bridge area where the Dam is damaged. My House is on top of a steep, high hill, in a very sandy area, and an old Roman, disused, Quarry sits only 25 to 30 yards from my front door and, over the years, any heavy rain seems to have no effect and I can walk on the lawn without getting my feet after a heavy shower or storm, the soil is that fast draining. The river is less than a mile away at the bottom of the hill but, in my memory, has never flooded except for one occassion in the 90's when the Water Authority miscalculated when they opened flood gates of some adjoining rivers:oopss: not thinking of the side effects:wallbanging::dunno::heehee:. So I'm hoping that the forecast is wrong and that Poyton, Chapel en le Frith, Whaley Bridge, don't have the heavy showers predicted and escape further damage to the Dam and area.:coffee:

Yet another glorious hot day thus far but thunderstorms are forecast which I won't be sorry about,it's very muggy and the air needs clearing.

                        Hi,

When the BBC weather forecasters forecast thundery showers from 2pm today I expect thundery showers to arrive on time after they aren't trains?

                        upload_2019-8-4_16-12-38.png

Thursday must be a mistake but I can go to bed tonight knowing all is well for next week with nothing to upset me regarding weather.

It must be terrible to be in the situation as those face in Whaley Bridge as you mentioned ARMANDII and I can only guess as to long term effect upon so many lives; I truly hope the dam holds until it can be fully repaired. Our bungalow is on a very steep valley side so rainfall however heavy heads at high speed down the valley and when Blackie lets up for only a couple of hours it looks like we've suffered a drought. Not many hoses or watering cans are seen in our local stores.

WOW it's scary there's a big bright ball appeared in the sky; I hope it's not aliens.

                        Kind regards, Colin
