The wind whipped up here in the early hours of the morning, but hardly any rain yesterday, although it was supposed to be wet all day.

So far today we’ve had about 5 small drops of rain, and lots of wind. Not as bad as the UK though - around 35kph, with gusts of 50kph. Even so, the big trees are whipping around very dramatically. I’m not planning a walk in the forest today! The washing is nearly dry already, and so far, still in my garden @Upsydaisy !

Only a feeble 40mph here but hot and sunny at 77F/25C in our sheltered main garden.

Strong gale force winds here since yesterday afternoon averaging 50mph gusting today at 60/70mph, some large pots gone over during a noisy night and doesn't look like abating for a few hours yet. Still, it's warm and partly sunny with no rain, 20c:smile:

Blowing like a 'gud 'un' here but have all doors wedged open to save getting blown off their hinges as it's so warm so that's a bonus if nowt else..

                      Hi,

WOW a full uninterrupted day in my workshop at last. Blackie just got me as I came out of the workshop but I wasn't bothered because working inside I've been free of him and his sister Gale for a change. I was so engrossed in what I was doing I hadn't noticed the pouring rain which at times was horizontal; it's never boring living here on the valley side; I reckon if both ends of the valley were blocked it would make a huge reservoir which would quickly fill.

                      Kind regards, Colin.

My Oxford arc welder in the trolley I made; I'm using this welder to weld the new TIG welding trolley.

New TIG welding trolley I've made today; the corner still needs finishing off to securely hold the Argon gas cylinder safely. Blackie and Gale haven't spoiled my day today.

When I said, earlier on, that the wind was 40 mph I then walked to the end of the garden to pick some crops and I guess that the wind was closer to 60 mph down there. After picking some courgettes and dodging the flying pears I walked back and got caught in a heavy shower whilst basking in the sunshine! The sky above was completely clear and blue but about, what appeared to be, a half mile away there were a few black clouds. The rain lasted about three minutes and there followed a rainbow. The arc of the rainbow was much lower to the ground than I ever remember it being.

An improvement on yesterday. A sunny start soon changing to a grey sky but humid all day. 18C/64F and..... windspeed 3mph gusting to 6-12mph.

I hope all is well with everyone down south? :)
