          Hi,

Thanks for adding your interesting story Mike. Was the welder you used actually arc or MIG? If it was arc you did exceptionally well to weld thin car bodywork and must have used a very shallow angle on the rod. I've never used a MIG welder and although I now own a TIG welder I'm still dreaming of using it; I hope I can repair it this week once the components arrive then next problem will be time to practice with it. I was taught gas welding (Oxy/acetylene) but it's one form of welding I never really like and haven't done gas welding since my apprentice days. Many years ago I owned a carbon arc torch and this was without doubt the worst ever welding bit of kit I've ever used. I've been arc welding for 55 years and my arc welder is an industrial oil cooled Oxford 180A which will weld day in day out without stress. I used to own a Vauxhall Victor FB estate many years ago. Sorry though to learn of your head on crash but pleased you're still here to talk about it.

Thanks shiney; very true indeed I'm greedy for rain and can't get enough of my own personal black cloud Blackie in fact as I looked out this morning at 6 o'clock the puddles were in the street and the car is still soaking wet so a normal start to my week; the sun is shining at the moment but I hope it quickly disappears otherwise Blackie will go into a long drawn out sulk.

Jobs this week; repair my TIG welder; repair our oven; possibly replace our bathroom fan heater; install four new roller blinds when they arrive; jobs to do in the garden; places to visit (garden center in a few minutes) shopping etc which I've just done; now what's this about me wanting workshop time. It never lets up here with jobs to do. Today is forecast fine so at least I've started the week with a laugh.

          Kind regards, Colin.

The temperature has soared to 50F/10C in the morning sun and should be a nice warm day.

Another blue skies morning start with a temperature of 54f, and then around 11pm the cloud moved in from the West but the Sun was still appearing and so the temperature has risen to 65f, there's only a slight breeze, and the pressure reading is 1002hpa, which is a rise in pressure.:coffee:

                      Hi,

I've been doing my Santa act this morning; HOE; HOE; HOE giving weeds an hard time; for 9 mornings a short while ago I was filling in where badgers had been digging trying to move in with us; each time I filled in I added large stones so now we've got a rockery we didn't want. This morning the badgers are now trying to move in halfway up the mountain; I've just filled in their latest hole.

Whatever I do something attacks it.

                      Kind regards, Colin.

Badger damage and they've left me little presents to add to the insult.

After a stunning display over the last couple of months here is the wildflower meadow today still looking pretty good having suffered lots of batterings by Blackie and Gale; Everything is still wet and Gale is still here huffing and puffing.

The clouds have moved in from the SouthWest and it's started to gently rain, while the temperature has "soared" to 59f and the pressure reading has dropped slightly to 1001hpa.:coffee::cat-kittyandsmiley:

Exactly how much rain do you get there Colin??:noidea: You never seem to get sunshine !

Badgers are immensely powerful and intensely driven creatures. I’ve seen massive boulders moved by them and hedges demolished by them. One way or another though they are being eradicated from the countryside.....the badger culls, new roadways etc. Such a shame. Wonderful animals
