Has been windy all day until now, up to 16C for the most part and dry with some sun until 3pm when it started to rain, still light rain.

              Hi,

Poor wiseowl; I bet you feel stiff; night flying will be a problem too standing out like a beacon assuming you can even achieve lift off. :)

Our weather forecasters must be on "speed" please see below.

              Kind regards, Colin.

Pretty birds @wiseowl I've not seen one in reality.

Hmmm, should I eat my words? A sunny morning but it clouded over by afternoon with a couple of showers. No, I haven't got the mower back yet. :doh:7C/45F

                              Hi,

Living here on the steep valley side gives lots of problems but one problem we don't have is flooding. We've like many others just had 24 hours of heavy rain; rainfall from our gardens rapidly discharges as it heads to the valley bottom; looking out first thing this morning our patio is almost dry and just some run off from our rear garden to be seen; it all dries out incredibly quickly; C'mon Blackie where are you?

It's cold but sunny at the moment; it's a toss up whether to risk gardening or be dry in the workshop; I don't like being cold or soaking wet.

                              Kind regards, Colin.

Where's my chum Blackie; surely he's aware our patio is drying out and our gardens need watering.

                              Roof problems_0001.JPG

Our neighbour moved next door about 6 years ago and being on her own Bron and I took pity on her; I ended up doing no end of jobs for her including spending a week erecting a fence all it costing her were materials; initially I was to help her but strangely on the Monday after all the fence materials had been delivered and I wandered round with tools and gloves she suddenly realized she was due at a weeks golf tournament; yes I erected the entire fence on my own finishing just in time for her to inspect it as she returned home.

At one point I had two big bungalows and gardens to look after because we were soft. A year or so ago I started to be blind and deaf; she had bought a ratty old Singer sewing machine on a veneered cabinet; I dragged this heavy machine into her front room but that was as far as I went; no I wasn't going to fully restore the mechanics; replace damaged veneer or French polish it; I'd already repaired a table top where she had dropped nail varnish remover on it. I've done hundreds of hours work free of charge for her. Now we've stopped doing all the work she no longer pops round for a chat. Above is a picture of her roof in desperate need of repair; she can't afford to have it repaired but she's too busy out playing golf and booking her next Queen Mary cruise to New York for next year with her grandson. She has a son living nearby who seldom visits her. Bron and I have been far too soft and where has it got us? We're here for emergencies for anyone.
