Nope, one of our sons live up your way and we usually have very similar weather.

 

Oh dear @Retired ....don't want to sound mean but I think you set yourselves up to that one!! You should have done some 'secret research' first and then knowing her family were nearby you should have stepped back and as you say remained available in emergencies only.

Many thanks Upsy; I doubt very much you could be mean even if you really tried hard.

Our neighbours husband died just before she moved here and we felt sorry for her; Bron and I never begrudged helping out at first trying to help her but as the years passed by we started to notice what she was really like. We'll never change because we don't want to get selfish and self centered; we're old fashioned and friendly but unfortunately doesn't seem to cut it these days.

WOW a sunny morning but bitterly cold up the mountain where I've been cutting plants back that have finished blooming; next job was to cut some aluminium blanks for welding this afternoon and I've just washed and dried the car; sorry I've done this wiseowl because it's sure to pour down now the car is clean and dry.

The new wild flower meadow I created at the top of the mountain is now dying back so I need to sort this out before winter sets in although it wouldn't hurt to simply leave it alone until next year.

Sadly people take advantage of your kind & helpful nature. My late wife used to tell me off for doing other neighbours jobs and not our own.....Today I would hate to see a lady struggle, so I look the other way

 

Hubs is the only male who can and does do such jobs in our family...Dad is too old, brother is disabled and two sisters who live on their own and one very dear friend who has Parkinson's....he's not getting any younger himself, but sadly we have make a stand and limit the readiness to do certain jobs. Hate having to do it but hubs has to come first now.

 

We only copped 4 mm of rain from the last system, so got off light.
Been sunny for today but a bit cooler . 12C

 

Forecast has changed now have a low of 0C tonight, first cold night of many.

 

We had a lovely walk around the lower half of Portland (one of our favourite walks) which started sunny in the morning but became hazy later in the afternoon with a cool northerly breeze, 11c.
What a difference to yesterday!!!

 

Been sunny and a walk down the Bexhill seafront revealed a flat calm sea.
Sat by the sea with a yummy stem ginger ice cream and enjoyed, along with many others, a warm welcome late October Sunday
