            Hi,

            Thanks Logan. :dbgrtmb::) When Bron and I first married Bron always had a hot water bottle to warm the bed but we soon found the delights of an electric blanket these being under blankets with a choice of all night use or just a quick heat up ; real luxury and from Argos the blankets are cheap. This is the one we chose;

            Buy Slumberdown Warm and Cosy Electric Underblanket - King | Electric blankets | Argos

            I switch it on about half an hour before going to bed.

            Blackie is so boring and here again as usual; fortunately for us the puddles we have aren't joined up and 4' deep whilst being inside our home.

            Kind regards, Colin.

              Colin that looks like a good electric blanket. Some time ago i mentioned to hubby to get one but he didn't say anything but he's the one to get in bed first.

              You must get fed up with all the bad weather that you have? I know we do and it's not as bad for us.

                          Hi,

                          Thanks Logan; yes our weather is usually dire as it is today but now I'm 72 I might as well get used to it because it's not likely to change for the better anytime soon.

                          I also get in bed first but being a stick insect I don't radiate much heat and I don't even heat up when we receive our electric bill. Bron and I like comfort and unlike many pensioners we've no intention of shivering just to save a bit of money.

                          A couple of years ago our immediate neighbour was complaining quite bitterly about her npower electricity bill; having nothing to hide I told her what our electricity cost us also with npower. She went home; phoned npower and told npower her neighbour was running big machinery in his workshop but paying a lot less for electricity; she then fell out with npower and did a switch to another supplier.

                          Shortly after she told me what she'd done Bron and I received a letter from npower they wanting to install a new smart meter? npower arrived as arranged but couldn't install their new smart meter because British Gas had already installed their gas smart meter and npower weren't allowed to touch British Gas equipment so no jail sentence for me and no npower smart meter either.

                          We don't fall out but now are wary what we say to our neighbours because of knives in our backs; who can you trust these days?

                          We've recently received our latest npower bill so I've emailed both our last bills to our neighbour for her to compare against her new electricity supplier; what a surprise; no reply to this.

                          When she switched companies I spent a bit of time researching on the web; she has her bungalow lit up like Blackpool illuminations in fact I doubt she knows it saves electricity if things like lights are switched off; she's also got four deep freezers running full time; she lives on her own. My machines are powerful: I designed and made my 4hp saw bench; having such machinery means I can run the machines for only short periods of time they accepting material at a fast rate so it's easy to get the wrong idea; one hour on the saw bench might only use 24 hours on one light bulb; the saw bench when not cutting doesn't use full load amps (FLA) so who in fact uses most electricity?

                          I'm no longer surprised by the way people behave; this neighbour complaining and falling out over an electricity bill for electricity she's used but then she spent £12,000 to have a personal lift installed from her garage into her bedroom; it's a bungalow and she explained that the lift was for when she becomes older; she's my age and today her bungalow went on the market.

                          I'm passing a bit of time rambling on because I can't face yet another wetting from Blackie should I be cheeky enough to head into the workshop. Bron and I prefer animals to people especially moggies. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

                          Kind regards, Colin.

                                A dismal, foggy day yesterday but today was much brighter with a fair amount of sunshine, 5C/41F. The sky is clear now so I expect to see frosty lawns in the morning.
