It always feels colder with the rain with these temperatures.

Frost on the car by 10pm last night and this morning my early morning amble was done in a temperature of 28f, and there was a hard frost everywhere. Jenny the Cat's patrol was unusually brief this morning as, I guess, she's not too happy with getting cold paws, and when I got back from the amble she was sitting by the fire after having her breakfast:cat-kittyandsmiley: I stayed off the grass on the amble as it looked quite brittle, then had a look around at the plants in pots on the Patio which have been there years, and then the newly bought Hardy Perennials in pots that I'd covered in two large fleece which looked fine. Right now the skies are clear, there's no breeze to drop the temperature further which is 38f and the pressure is 994hpa.
There's a promise from the Met Office of milder weather tonight with no frost tomorrow:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Bloody cold last night, -1C but a sunny start, it clouded over for a few hours but the sun came out again this afternoon.

            Hi,

Thanks wiseowl for taking such good care of Blackie whilst he and his wayward family were with you; very much appreciated indeed; if Blackie isn't happy he tends to take it out on me as soon as he returns home.

I bet you spoil Jenny rotten ARMANDII; she'll know all about Dreamies? Bron and I no longer have a cat of our own but we still spend over £20 each week on bird nuts and cat biscuits plus of course Bron always picks up lots of little treats for all the moggies that visit us; when we had a cat the cat would have salmon and I would have fish fingers; no it's not a dog's life at all it's definitely a cat's life. We're both cat lovers.

            Kind regards, Colin.

Sorry @shiney I won't be passing this time, I'll be going to get the banana boat at Heysham.

A hard frost overnight that didn't thaw all day. It was -5C/23F at midnight so I'm guessing it dropped to at least -7C/19F. A lovely sunny day but oh so cold, -1C/30F.

Not the slightest movement of leaves, not quite as frosty as yesterday and a very encouraging warm glow to the sky. :blue thumb:

                                Hi,

Gorgeous picture wiseowl. :dbgrtmb: I hope you haven't singed any feathers whilst burning wood.

It's amazing here this morning; no Jackie frost; no Billie bitter wind and no BLACKIE. What's Yorkshire coming to? What we need now is Blackie's kid sister Gale to huff and puff and blow all the oak leaves away. I've just enjoyed an hour clearing leaves but there's lots more still on the two oak trees.

Rather chilly but pleasant once the blood started going round.

                                Kind regards, Colin.
